D14-1
PRESENCE SENSOR

The Model D14-1 Presence Sensor is a low-cost device designed to detect the presence of an object within its pattern. It is an ideal complement to our D7 activation system for swing doors. It may also be used in many other applications which require continual detection.

-Prevents door operation when an object occupies swing zone
-Less expensive and easier to maintain than floor mats
-Compact and unobtrusive metal enclosure
-Adjustable pattern
-Adjustable reset time delay
-Activation LED
-12 to 24 VAC operation
-Weather resistant enclosure

Key Benefits

The D14-1 is less expensive to install and easier to maintain than floor mat switches. The D14-1 is weather resistant. The use of presence sensing in this application eliminates maintenance problems encountered by treadles or mats that are exposed to freezing water, salt and other chemicals as well as normal foot traffic wear.
The D14-1 is reliable. It is constructed using all solid-state circuitry to provide virtually trouble-free operation over an indefinite period of time. Its small size and trim appearance is well-suited for any prestige entrance way.

Specifications

ACTIVATING DEVICES

1.1 The automatic swing door control system shall be a combination of activation, presence and door beam detectors as manufactured by Microwave Sensors, Inc.

1.2 A swing door detection system shall include one D7 on the approach side of the door, a D14-1 presence sensor covering the swing zone side of the door and a set of guard rails with DB-11S beams.

1.3 An object detected by the presence sensor within the user-set pattern shall signal the door controls to keep the door closed or open, depending on the door position at the time of detection. Note: No signal shall be sent to the door controls while the door is in motion, unless the beam is interrupted.

1.4 The presence sensor pattern shall be adjustable without removing the enclosure cover.

1.5 The presence sensor shall have solid state electronics with normally open or normally closed contacts to interface with the door control circuit.

1.6 The presence sensor shall have a light indicator (LED) to identify the status of the sensor. All work shall be done in strict compliance with the manufacturer's recommendations.

* (If door manufacturer's controls are not designed to operate with presence detector, RL-2 Relay may be required.)
