The Model D15 is a sensor for automatic doors which responds to motion in only one direction. When used on doorways with two way traffic, the D 15 allows the door to close sooner by sensing only the approaching traffic. This prevents heated and/or conditioned air from escaping through doorways which would otherwise remain open longer than necessary. Economy and environmental conditions are then maintained.

Key Benefits

The D15 generates a very low power broad microwave beam, aimed to cover the same area usually covered by a floor mat activator. It is less expensive to install and easier to maintain than floor mat switches which sometimes fail prematurely because of freezing water, salt and other chemicals as well as heavy foot traffic wear.
The D15 is available in two different patterns: narrow pattern for single opening doors and a wide pattern for double opening doors. Both patterns are adjustable and can be reduced in size proportionately to the required size.
The D15 is quality constructed and employs solid state circuitry. Its small size and trim appearance is well-suited for any prestige doorway.

Specifications

ACTIVATING DEVICES

1.1 Microwave approach sensor, Model D15, as manufactured by Microwave Sensors, Inc. shall be used.

1.2 The device shall be installed on the automatic door header and in a centering position to the traffic pattern (can be concealed in the ceiling).

1.3 The device shall detect only approaching traffic to the doorway or towards the unit.

1.4 The device shall not detect traffic leaving the doorway or away from the unit.

1.5 The detection pattern shall be adjustable without removing the enclosure cover.

1.6 The detection pattern shall not be affected by temperature or humidity.

1.7 The detector enclosure shall be all metal to assure protection, help eliminate R.F. interference and provide weather resistance.

1.8 The fastening bracket is to be included and is to be heavy duty, vandal resistant type.

1.9 The device shall operate on 12 or 24 volts AC or DC.

1.10 The device shall have the option of operating on a normally open or a normally closed circuit.

1.11 The device shall have a user adjustable time delay from .5 seconds to 5 seconds.
